BTY is the Bible to Youth Consortium – a bunch of people who are passionate about seeing young people connect with God’s word, and be changed in the process.
BTY produces resources that seek to engage youth with the Bible – and we use all sort of different media to do that. In 2007 we produced twentyfour – a personal journal and DVD that looked at the Gospel of Luke. In 2008 we produced BiG, along similar lines to twentyfour, but based on Genesis 1-17, and using awesome animation to bring to life the stories of Genesis.
In 2009 we launched twist – a 4 session study that digs into the Parables of Jesus. It uses video clips of a narrator to work through the sessions, which explore the power of stories, the culture of Jesus’ day, the concept of the Kingdom of God, and how we might re-tell one of Jesus’ parables in a modern context. It comes on DVD, and has all the leader outlines, group handouts and clips on the one disc.
BTY is an initiative of Bible Society SA and Scripture Union SA. Represented on the Consortium are the state youth leaders from Churches of Christ, Baptist Churches, Salvation Army, CRC Churches International and the Lutheran Church, as well as Tear, Youth Ministries Australia, and Schools Ministry Group. Enabled Solutions are a key part of the Consortium, and look after our web, design and animation parts of the resources.
